TEMCo Solar Wire Extensions are manufactured with 19-strand bare copper conductors for excellent conductivity, durability, and flexibility in photovoltaic (PV) applications. Both the solar wire and the Staubli MC4 connectors are made in the USA, and each cable assembly is professionally crimped and assembled in the USA to ensure consistent quality and reliable performance.
The solar wire is insulated with XLPE (Cross-Linked Polyethylene), providing resistance to heat, UV exposure, chemicals, and abrasion for long-term outdoor use. The extension set includes one red cable and one black cable. The red cable is supplied with a positive Staubli MC4 connector pre-installed on one end, and the black cable is supplied with a negative Staubli MC4 connector pre-installed on one end for correct polarity and quick connection to existing solar equipment.
The opposite ends of both cables are shipped as bare wire, and the set includes one loose pair of Staubli MC4 connectors for customer-installed termination. The loose connectors are designed to be crimped using a compatible MC4 crimping tool, such as the TEMCo TH0011 solar wire crimper (not included), allowing the installer to customize the final connection.
This PV wire is suitable for both above-ground and underground installations and is rated for direct burial when installed in accordance with applicable electrical codes. These cables are ideal for use in solar panel arrays, combiner boxes, charge controllers, and inverters for residential, commercial, RV, off-grid, and grid-tied solar systems.
TEMCo Solar Wire Extensions meet applicable industry standards including UL 4703, CSA RPVU90/RPV90, NEC 338 and 690, USE-2, Service-Entrance Cable, and are RoHS compliant. The insulation passes both the VW-1 Vertical Flame Test and FV-2 Horizontal Flame Test, ensuring safe and reliable operation in demanding environments.
